The_Harrier II GR7_is a vertical/short takeoff and landing_(V/STOL) aircraft used by the_RAF. The improvements for the The Harrier II included a composite fuselage, larger wing area, improved avionics and the GR7 introduced night fighting capabilities and electronic countermeasures. It entered service in 1991 and continued to serve until its controversial early retirement in 2011. The Harrier in all forms served in many theatresas part of the RAF and is still in service with the United States Marine Corps.
